Hi! I hope you liked page 30. I’ve never made a 30 page comic book before. I’ve tried but my attention span would never allow it. I’d move on to a different project. I’d always vow to return but never did. So this page 30 is kind of a personal big deal I guess. Not that the comic is complete or anything.
Anyway… Here are two more pages of Cookin’ Good… In Space! Hopefully enjoy.

As always, you can watch episodes of Cookin’ Good here.

I’m a bit too worn out from creating page 30 to blog today, so instead I thought I’d throw in a Classic ButterSword Revised. Thanks for reading and we hope you’ll return Friday for more ButterSword. Tell a friend!

Also, if you live in the Austin area, we’ll be at the 9.10.11 show.
Here is the information we have about it so far:
The show will be kind of an “all nerd type stuff” show. The Nerdcore hip-hop artists Doug Funnie and Damp Heat will perform, a tarot card reader is setting up a table, Shane Campos and his Shirt company, Racketeer Robot will be part of a live art show, shirts for sale, and more. It’s an outdoor event. Just a bunch of fun with people promoting their stuff.
We will have a flyer for it soon. CherryWood Coffee House on 9.10.11 at 9pm.

That’s one dude I sure would not want peeved at me for any reason. That bayonet looks particularly lethal.
It’s a really cool gun. The bayonet is almost a foot long.
Yep. The thing with the M44 is that the iron sites are zeroed in with the bayonet extended, so even for hunting or targets the rifle is more accurate with the bayonet pointed out. It folds in, but you have to use tools to change it’s position so… I just always have it pointed outward.
Plus it looks really cool that way.
Why am I thirsty again?
Haha ya… these two tend to booze it up. They party.
Boy Curtis looks determined. Lookout brown/grey robot.
I know what you mean about long series. I have another chapter & a half of 2011 A Rat Odyssey still to go. It’s all drawn up & scanned with still a lot of episodes still to colour but because I know where & how the story goes I wanna start something fresh. I worry that people may feel it’s dragging on too much.
I guess driving through the vast distance of space would be a bit boring. That’s why you need adventures on the way to break the trip up. Or get into suspended animation & hope your onboard computer will keep you alive.
I’m surprisethed that thine olde time citizens would knoweth what a laptop doth be…
Wow. I wish I could get that far ahead. I’m more of a last minute kind of guy but I hear you about wanting to move on because it’s dragging. I’ve had like eight pages devoted to this action fight scene thing now and even though sequentially they’re pretty cool, clicking through them isn’t like turning a page. Plus at the rate of two a week I’m worried I’ll lose people but… it’s just one or two more before it resolves. Keeping those fingers crossed and looking forward to finishing and starting the second issue.
Would “suspended animation” mean reusing the same art forever like the Dinosaur Comics?
If that’s the case, I have to work some suspended animation in my toons…
That sounds right. Suspended animation… cool.
I’m not opposed to it if it’s appropriate. The thought was they were sitting and growing bored as time passed so… I just used the space outside to show any movement.
It was lazy I suppose. I did Cookin’ Good… In Space! back in… 2007? I was a lot more limited then. Well a little more.
I like that it’s called suspended animation.
I think suspended animation might kill interest in the storyline. Especially by the 5th light year
Hahaha!
Wow yea I know just how you feel. I always start to write a book just to get like 50 pages in and stop. I have like 12 stories in the works only one has been done and so far it needs tons of work. Great comic can’t wait to see how it ends.
I can’t either! Haha!
50 pages is pretty good if you ask me. A collection of short stories maybe?
I heard space is a dry zone.
Uh-oh! ALL of space?! If so they might end up being moonshine haulers.
He sure is angry.
He sure is! Not always though.
I like the charge in the last panel and the expression on his face.
Thanks Hjörtur. It turned out quite comedic, which I think takes the edge off of things.
hey I like the comic can’t wait to se what happens
Thanks Mongoose! I’m a bit curious about that myself. We’ll be back Friday with another page.
Welcome Mongoose!
Haha. SPEE-AARR! Awesome. See you guys at the 9.10.11 show. All ButterSword fans welcome. Cuz if you dig this comic you GOT to be cool! I’ll get that flyer out to you MC.
Thanks Bad Barry. We look forward to the show.
congrats on a great page
Thanks.
Hey, friends. Wish I was in Austin and could go to the event. I was in Colorado for a while and am catching up on the comics now. Thanks for doing what you do.
Hello friend! The 9.10.11 show will be awesome, but otherwise, Austin is too hot right now. Except at night. At night it’s not too bad.
We wish we’d been in Colorado! That sounded great. Too cold to swim! Nice.
California would also be better for weather we would bet. Lately we are thinking about living in a van again.
Yeah, that would have been fun if you two were in Colorado and Erik and I were in Colorado and we could all not swim together.
Thanks LM! Yeah, MC is right, it’s way too hot here! I’m desperate for Fall to come but it’s still a long ways away for us.
I need to write a letter for you soon. I read that you were buried in new mail though so maybe I’ve still got time.
Hope you guys are having a great weekend.
Yeah, fall doesn’t come until October? Yeah, I have a lot of mail to read but your letters go to the top of my pile.
Yeah, we’re trying to have a good weekend. So far we’ve gone to the park and now Erik’s going yoga. I want to go to Davis but I don’t trust the truck to get us there. Anyway, happy weekend to you too. <3
I like action in this one!!!
Thanks alecho! I like the sounds of the walking and stomping on the truck. I need to fix a hand on Curtis before this one goes to print, and I will, but otherwise I like it. His crazy face is pretty funny.
