Guess what?!
Not even close.
Actually, we found a comic by the elusive Jen in the truck behind the seats! Apparently she had made it during our travels last year and we never even used it! Crazy!
And then I used another exclamation point! I guess I’m all about using those today! Anyway!!!
Anyway… we will now present to you this never before seen comic.
In other news… Jen and I shall soon be having a short vacation. Our calendars are clear for eight days and we are going to get the heck out of here for a little while. Where to? We don’t know yet.
We’ve been saving up money to purchase a van. We absolutely adore our current vehicle, The Scout Ship SEV6, and we’re keeping it, but we would like a van we can customize for travel.
We thought maybe we should spend the vacation driving to a van we find on the internet, but we might go tent camping instead. We also might set up the travel bed in the SEV6 again. Want to see?
Excerpt from D.I.Y. with ButterSword and Friends:
Thanks for joining us today on ButterSword. We are a tad behind in our getting back to people lately, but we’ll get caught up. We hope you have a great weekend and we’ll be back on Monday. Hope to see you then. Until then… take care and take chances!

You two are very industrious. If you drive out my way, I have some projects that need working on
Our rate is very reasonable.
The good thing about building a bed… if you’re tired out from building it, you can use it right away!
True! The first time we put this in the truck we tested the bed right after. I would have fallen asleep too, but Jen dragged me out of bed by my ankles. It makes a decent bed.
We can actually sit up in bed too, although I have to put chin to chest. Still surprising. This will be the third time we’ve installed the bed. The only draw back is that the truck has a six foot bed and I’m over six feet. Curse my height! So… we could really use a van. With a van we could do a lot.
what are they trying to do with high-tech a… probing
If they are doing that, they had better PREY that Curtis never wakes up. Haha…
No! We’ll have none of that around here.
Uh Oh I guess that means mr time in hell with devil bloke.
Yikes the suicide capsule shouldn’t be taken before breakfast on an empty stomach. It could be bad for your health.
Great idea on the truck bed.
Thanks Tony! Haha… indigestion from a suicide pill would really be a slap in the face.
Wow I now have a project to build so when I can’t afford rent here. We will always have a roof over our head. Love it!!!!!!!!
Haha! Well… travel and homelessness are different, but you could always pretend you were traveling I guess. Before I met Jen I lived in my truck in L.A. for awhile. The weather was great so it wasn’t bad at all. I joined a gym so I showered every day. I had a small storage room. If you get creative…
If you add a family to it though it suddenly doesn’t seem like much fun at all.
Curtis looks like he could be in for some more trouble, but I think Ann is coming to rescue him.
Song to wake up to…hmm…maybe Rocket Man.
Neat bed idea! For us Wombies, we could fit four on top and four underneath. It’d be like a mini-Wombie motel!
You might be right about Ann to the rescue.
I think Rocket Man actually won but I don’t recall. It was long ago during the space shuttle stuff.
If Jen and I were wombie sized we could make a travel vehicle out of a smart car!
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come? Curtis might need some help right about now! Those astronauts sure take their beeping seriously! Your travel plans are very creative. Forget necessity, saving money is the mother of invention!
Truth!
Curtis needs some help and help is on the way!
The beeping… Haha… I don’t how how she comes up with them.
I think it was probably an NPR news story we overheard.
Travel is expensive. The less outgoing money is more gas going into our vehicle.
Thus more travel.
Either way, he needs to come to and take care of these weirdo chaps.
Indeed!
Indubitably!
I hope Curtis doesn’t end up like Michael Jackson. Jen’s comic is whacko funny. I can’t believe the clever things you two have designed and made yourselves. You are now my heroes for being thrifty, wise and also kind to planet earth. Not to mention comics! It just keeps on coming!
Hahaha! Thanks Robin! Yeah, I think I’m more of a tight-wad than MC but we’re both pretty cheap. And we like it that way.
Hi, MC! Hi, Jen! It’s a treat to get an old Jen comic from behind the seats. I hope you have a very nice camping trip.
Thanks Laura-Marie! I hope our trip goes well too…
I checked the projected weather forecast for Denver (one of the possible destinations) today and they said it’s going to be like highs of 45, lows around 20. Whoa. I don’t know if we’re strong enough to camp in the truck when it’s THAT cold out. So we’ll see….
Hi Laura-Marie!
A very impressive build!
Hopefully (despite the cooler weather) you guys will still get to enjoy your break!
Haha! Love the truck bed double bed!
You are very inventive!
I like it too
