Hello.
The holidays continue, but I’ve grown more numb and less psycho.
During my and Jen’s recent vacation, we made a major purchase we’d been saving up and hunting for. We bought a van!
We are going to customize said van. Currently we completed getting it legal, and we are now in the destruction of it’s former self stage.
Here are two pictures of our new van as it appears thus far:
So far we’ve gotten the extra seats and most of the carpet out. It has a lot of seat belt bolts that are proving quite difficult. We’ll be installing a custom interior that will be our travel nest for two. It’s very spacious compared to our miniature truck and a great development challenge for multiple use of small space. Or something.
It’s a really big project.
I’ll show the latest drum set next time. It’s… Hmm…
Different.
And now… an bonus comic.
Thanks for reading ButterSword! Tomorrow I have an actual day off and I plan to visit websites and start getting caught up on my socializing. I’ll see you out there!

Love seeing your work projects. Can’t wait to see how the van turns out.
Thanks Bearman. We’ll definitely be sharing that project in some way.
That fan looks like it could be pretty cool when it’s done…look forward to seeing the mods!
Thanks Jerry! We’re anxious ourselves.
You’re turning up the heat in the strip, interested to see what happens next. That fog tale is so, so true! What evil structure looms yonder ‘neath the misty gloom — my office building! Lol. Great stuff, MC. Here’s wishing you and Jen a happy and safe hoiday!
Thanks Mark! You as well.
Maybe we’ll all have a super foggy holiday!
That sounds like booze and dope but I didn’t mean like that.
Well… one or the other!
love the fog…ha
Thanks Mom!
hummmmm…can’t wait to see what happens next
Another page Monday!
Talk about being raked over the coals! Curtis looks a little toasty!
The van should be an interesting project with how handy and creative you are. I suggest a rising, centrally-mounted gun turret. You know, just in case.
I would love that! Hahaha…
I think instead we’re thinking domestic stuff. Travel kitchen. Folding bed.
I might get some A-Team gear on board though.
You could so turn that van into the Mystery Machine ala Scooby Doo… just thought
I love The Mystery Machine!
But no… we need something stealthy.
Does that mean the A-Team look is out, too?!
I thought about painting it all black and in big white letters on the side:
ORDINARY BLACK VAN
Not affiliated with the F.B.I.
Something similar was on The Simpsons and I laughed until I was mad for missing a lot of The Simpsons.
I love travelling in fog. It’s especially fun when you’re on the train – adds an air of surreal mystery to the journey.
That DOES sound awesome, Martin! Like the train on its way to Hogwarts…. or something.
Know that is torture!
I like the van and look forward to see the drum set.
p.s. fogs are scary.
Thanks, Hjortur. Fortunately, it looks like Curtis is about to be released. And I think MC is photographing one of his drum sets right now.
It inspires hope in me also. I always hope I don’t wreck!
Ha! Good one Scholar Mel!
I like the van too!…It will be fun.
Fog…work is always at the other end of it.
xx
Thank you, Deb! The van will be a lot of fun. I’ve been watching lots and lots of van conversion videos on youtube tonight and getting WAY too many ideas.
Gosh Curtis needs some SPF5000+ sunscreen by the looks of it If he doesn’t get outta there soon he will be toast. That is a great looking van. Looking forward to updates on your customisation. Imagination is much more exciting than your day job. My highlight of the day at work is lunch. I always use it as time to draw my comics.
Oh I failed to notice Barry was autofilled.
It’s true, Tony! Curtis is going to be as red as a lobster! And MC showed me pictures of your garden! It’s SO amazing! And I loved your warning to trespassers sign! I envy your green thumbs!
Thanks Jen, I just plant the stuff with lots of compost mixed through the garden. Water it regularly & nature does the rest. We happen to be blessed with really great soil where we live. That makes a big difference as we’ve lived in other places with poor soil & stuff hasn’t grown that well.
That’s great! We’ve been working on our current compost for about two years now and I think it’s got to have turned into some awesome soil in there. I guess if we’re still here in the spring we’ll try turning over all of the current garden soil with the compost and planting. We have one of those three-pronged hand tillers and I remember using it all day to turn up soil last year left me with some REALLY sore muscles. Oh my gosh that was such hard work.
Congrats on the new van!
Thank you, LM! I’m working on a letter to you right now!
I’m eager to see how you guys do with that van. Should be quite some project.
Thanks George! We think we will really enjoy it.
I owe you an email about that other project. I haven’t forgotten, and my sanity is returning so… soon!
